I admit. Sometimes I feel like I want to give up. I feel like it’s just too hard to be successful and that I would rather become a bum. It’s those down days that I have to really dig deep and remember why I started down this road in the first place. I know for many of us, chasing our dreams is hard. You see so many people who just pop up one day and are instantly successful. On the other hand, you’ve been working yourself silly just trying to pop into the thousands on Instagram. It’s okay to feel like you want to give up. You’re only human. What’s not okay is actually giving up, and I’m going to show you how to never give up even when you want to.

How To Never Give Up Even When You Want To
Celebrate Small Victories
Giving up is super easy. It is especially easy when it feels like nothing you are doing is working. A great way to combat those negative feelings is to celebrate small victories.
When I started blogging, I was constantly getting annoyed because I never seemed to be where I wanted to be.
As soon as I took a few steps forward, I’d instantly encounter a setback and be flung right back to the beginning again and that really sucked.
One day, I decided to look back at my journey, go over my notes and really see just how far I’d come. I was so busy being upset that I hadn’t realized that I had actually surpassed my goals of getting 100 page views within the first week.
It was crazy and I was super-excited. Soon after, I decided to always celebrate the little things. It made continuing on this path so much easier because I was focusing on the positives that were happening. I ask you to do the same.
Did you gain 10 followers on Instagram? Celebrate that because it is 10 more followers than you had yesterday.
Remind Yourself Of The Why
The longer you chase after your dreams, the more difficult the road becomes. This can cause us to lose sight of why we started.
A great way to not lose sight of your goal is to write it down. Make some space in your office or bedroom and make a clear note of where you want to be in the future.
Hang it up where you can always see it.
When you’re feeling down and not sure what to do next, take a look at it and remind yourself of why you’re doing this.
Remind yourself of all the hard work you’ve put into chasing your dream. Think about all the sacrifices you have made along the way.
Is it really worth it to just give up now? Are you really going to be known as the quitter?

Never Compare Yourself
It can be easy for us to compare ourselves to others. It is only human nature. You walk down the road carrying a new bag and immediately see someone with an even better one.
The immediate thought is to compare theirs to yours.
Granted, you have no idea if the bag is even theirs and you don’t know how they even came to acquire said bag yet you do it anyway. The same can be said for other areas of our lives.
Your journey is different. Everyone’s journey is different. Just because it takes you two years versus someone else’s two months means nothing.
I always try to focus on the journey. Even though I want to be successful one day, the more important part for me is everything that I’ve learned along the way.
When I eventually make it to the top, and I know I will because I believe in myself and work very hard, I want to look back at all the wonderful people I met.
I want to remember all the lessons I learned and how much I matured along the way. So please, do not worry about what someone else is doing.
Keep yourself busy working on yours.
Keep Yourself Motivated
Motivation is a difficult skill to master. It is very hard to motivate other people to do anything really.
What’s even harder is trying to motivate yourself. This can get even trickier when you are at the end of your rope and don’t have anything else to hang unto.
So how will you be able to stay motivated when you have ten blog posts due, Instagram and FB posts with no-one to help you out?
There’s no easy fix. I do, however, have a few things you can do to help sustain motivation.
- break down your goals into daily, weekly and monthly goals, and give yourself rewards after you have accomplished each one,
- get help from someone else who has been there before and can help to guide you through the process,
- make a road-map but be prepared to change course in case things don’t go your way,
- keep yourself focused on one thing at a time so that you don’t become overwhelmed in the process.
Try One More Time
So you’ve had a setback or you failed at something. That’s fine. Many of the most successful people in history have failed multiple times.
A few days ago, I really read through the story of Colonel Sanders, the founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken.
He had so many failures before he finally succeeded in perfecting his recipe for fried chicken. No matter what obstacle was put in his way, Colonel Sanders never gave up.
He always tried one more time.
They believed in themselves enough and in the power of their dreams. These people knew that no matter how dark it might seem, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.
I’m encouraging you. I have failed many times in my life but I was never a failure.
Failing is only a part of the process, what makes you a failure is when you decide to give up.[clickToTweet tweet=”Those who win the race in life aren’t necessarily the fastest but those who keep going no matter what.” quote=”The ones who win the race in life are not necessarily the fastest but those who keep going no matter what.”]
Keep Running The Race
I know it can be hard, and the journey to success can be long and gruelling. I need you to promise yourself something.
Promise yourself that you will never give up even when you want to. Say to yourself every single day that everything you experience along your journey will all be worth it.
Your mom went through so much to bring you into this world. She had to endure odd cravings, gaining weight and excruciating pain when your time came.
Yet through it all, she never gave up. When the morning sickness was at its highest, she persevered. Even when doctors told her to push, though she was tired, she still got it done.
Your life is worth it, and your dreams are worth it. So believe you can make it and push…..
There you have it. Here are a few effective ways you can learn how to never give up even when you want to.
