5 Secrets To Help You Chase Your Dreams And Achieve Success

5 Secrets To Chase Your Dreams And Achieve Success!- Key to success

Goal setting has to be the fastest routes to achieving success I have ever come across. To chase your dreams, you must have a goal as this sets the tone for your entire journey. What is it that you want to achieve?

How do you see yourself getting there? Will it make an impact in the world? Think really hard about these things. I had to do ALOT of thinking.

Know how to make the “right” goals that will get you from point A to point B. The best way to do so is to set SMART goals. I mentioned in my previous post that you need to build a roadmap.

To unlock the power of a SMART goal your goal needs to challenge you and your ability. It needs to push you to be greater than you were and it must never be something you will lose interest in because it’s too easy.

I made the mistake of setting super easy goals and they got me nowhere. Please don’t make the same mistake I did.

The easiest goals in life aren't always the best ones to pursue. If a goal doesn't stretch you then it will most definitely bore you Click To Tweet

You need to be committed to your goal. It is very easy for us to have dreams and to want to be successful, but if you aren’t committed to achieving your goals then you will get nowhere.

When I first started out on this blogging journey, I wanted to crush my goals and become a successful woman. I didn’t realize though that it would take so much work, lol.

This completely threw me off. Sometimes I really wanted to give up, but I stood my ground and I stuck with it.

The same goes for you. There’s a Jamaican saying that goes “If you want good you nose affi run.” This means that if you want to achieve great things and become a successful person then you need to do your best to be committed and to consistently put in the work that is required to progress along your road to success.

You're doomed before you begin if you aren't committed to your dreams. Click To Tweet

When you set out to chase your dreams and achieve success, I can bet that you wanted to have fun along the way. Yet somewhere between working too many late nights and never seeing your friends, the dream became less of a dream and more of a nightmare.

I am speaking from experience, and I know this can be hard.

To prevent this from happening, please relax a little bit and have some fun. The moment your goals and dreams become a chore and lose their appeal, you’re doing something wrong. No matter how much work you’re doing or how stressful it becomes it should never stop being fun.

Make it a priority to reward yourself as you make progress. This was the best piece of business advice I have ever gotten. There were days when I felt like it was too hard so I stopped and took a break for a bit, played a game and made myself laugh.

I also ensured that I would reward small successes such as achieving 1000 page views then 10000 page views monthly.

Those figures might seem small to many, but I’ve learned that small wins can have huge impacts.

If you genuinely aren't happy about what you are doing, then sorry, but you're not successful. Click To Tweet

I once had a friend of mine tell me to never compare my chapter one with someone else’s chapter 5. This is so true especially now when everyone is posting their monthly income and saying how they’re making all this money while you have yet to figure out what goals to set. I struggled with accepting this piece of advice for months!!

As I said here, please stop comparing yourself to other people. I will go even further to say that as much as is possible skip those income reports that people post unless it is absolutely necessary for research.

You don’t need to read about how one person made $5,000 last month if they won’t tell you how or can’t break down their methods.

Don’t spend your time watching someone else’s journey and then lose sight of your own. When you decided to chase your dreams and achieve success, you knew it wouldn’t be easy so just keep at it.

Keep working on your goals. Continue putting in the work and the success will come. Your audience will find you!

No two journeys are alike so keep your eyes on your prize and your destination. Click To Tweet

When you’re looking for perfection in chasing your dreams, this is the quickest way to fail. I am so sorry to have to tell you that. No-one is perfect and even though we’d like to ignore our flaws, they are there and that’s what makes us unique.

I have been told time and time again that perfection is actually procrastination embedded in fear. This fear causes us to push our deadlines further and further back until we’ve lost all momentum.

It took me way too long to start my YouTube channel and the main reason was that I wanted my videos to be perfect.

The truth is no-one is completely capable in every single thing they strive for. We will all make mistakes, and we will all mess up at some point. It isn’t about constantly waiting until just the perfect moment to chase your dreams, it is about taking the leap and working your way to success.

The need for perfectionism makes us obsessed with how good we are right now instead of focusing on just how much better we can become. Click To Tweet

That was such a long read, wasn’t it? But I am glad you got this far. Honestly, my number one piece of advice when it comes to chasing your dreams is to be consistent. You can follow every tip that I have mentioned, but do them whenever you feel like it, and end up failing.

Consistency is the key and once you discover that key and use it, you’ll be on your way in no time. Keep chasing your dreams. Climb those mountains and kick butt on the way there. I’ll see you in the success columns!

    Hi Dee,

I agree that doubt plays a big role in achieving our dreams and successes, but sometimes, it also depends on the person’s endurance to successfully perform a task. I also appreciate that you mention having fun while on the road to success. This is probably one of those truths that everyone forgets about.

Thanks for sharing your insight. Truly enjoyed this blog post!

Thank you for stopping by. I do think that the ability to perform a task is important but that steps from whether or not the person puts in the work required to achieve the success they want

  2. April 9, 2018 / 11:27 AM

These are good tips. This makes me think of this book “Choose Wonder Over Worry: Move Beyond Fear and Doubt to Unlock Your Full Potential by Amber Rae. I haven’t read this yet, but I look forward to doing so. I think you’d like it, too.

I have heard if you don’t make it a goal, it’s only just a wish. I agree that goals are a fasttrack to success. They help keep us very focused.

I really like this list and your tips. I like the idea of perfection not being your goal – no one is perfect and it’s good to accept that or else we’ll never met our goals and feel we have achieved.

I like to set goals and then set smaller goals under each one. This way I can always measure how close I am to the final goal, by counting how many small ones I have already ticked up to it.

  9. April 10, 2018 / 2:47 AM

I definitely need to work more on setting goals and working to complete them and not flitting from one place to another all the time.
